Andre Paras

Andre Alonzo Paras, better known as Andre Paras, is a Filipino model and actor. He is best known for his role as Chad Jimenez in the film adaptation of Diary ng Panget. Paras is most seen in GMA Network and currently playing Bradley Castillo in the hit mellow-drama The Half Sisters. Personal life Andre Alonzo Paras was born on November 1, 1995 in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. He is the son of former basketball player and actor Benjie Paras and ex-celebrity and former actress Jackie Forster. Andre stated that he loves to play guitar and write down songs. His favorite genres are Hip Hop and Rock. Career Acting career Andre's debut series became one of his biggest break when he appeared in the fantasy-drama series Elena M. Patron's Blusang Itim in a supporting role. He became a GMA Network contract artist in 2011 and a regular performer in Sunday All Stars. Basketball career Andre Paras, son of Philippine hoops legend Benjie Paras, is following in his father’s footsteps as he played collegiate basketball for the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons. He, who played high school ball for La Salle Greenhills in 2006, will play for the State University starting UAAP Season 76. Earlier in 2014, Andre has transferred from University of the Philippines to San Beda College with an eye on suiting up eventually for the Red Lions. After a year of studying in UP and playing as a rookie for the UP Fighting Maroons, he opted not be called an Iskolar ng Bayan anymore for due to not being able to balance his studies and career at the same time. Andre decided to transfer due to his hectic work schedule in his drama series The Half Sisters. He also said that although it was his dream to study in UP, he doesn’t want to have a bad reputation in the university. “I was not so ready yet. I didn't want to fail kaagad. Sayang naman 'yung opportunity. So I wanna be ready muna,” explained Andre. Andre also said that his departure from the UP Men’s Basketball Team didn’t become an issue between him and his teammates. The 6-foot-5 Andre will be joining a program that has won four straight NCAA titles after going through a winless season with the Fighting Maroons last season.
