An ice cream shop opened mid-December of last year in Greenhills, and is fast becoming popular for offering the most number of ice cream flavors in town: they started the year offering 77 flavors, and are expected to reach 101 flavors to choose from by end of this month, January.
Carousel Creamery is a new dessert shop specializing in handrafted ice cream. 'We've got your flavor" is their tagline and a delicious promise, as they have many, many flavors to cater to all kinds of ice cream lovers out there. Ordering system here is through color-coded tokens (they also serve as your passport to tasting); ice cream is ordered as Single scoop (P85, clear token), Double scoop (P145, black token), and Triple Scoop (P200). You can add toppings (P25 each), too. The tokens can also be bought as gifts to give away to your ice cream loving friends — all they need to do is present the tokens to the scooping station to enjoy their ice cream.
Expect their ice cream variants to be a mix of the classics (Strawberry, Coffee, Straciatella), all-time favorites (Rocky Road, Butter Pecan), Filipino flavors (Chocnut, Pinoy Beer and Chicharon), and the unique (Gorgonzola with Prunes, Chocolate Chili, Mascarpone with Figs, Bacon and Cheese, Roasted Barley, Honey Lavender). Some of the many flavors available include Dark Side Chocolate, Red Velvet, Earl Grey Tea, Chocolate Almond Fudge, White Chocolate, Mocha Oreo Bailey's, Wasabi, Spiced Pumpkin, Blueberry, and Rum Raisin. This week, they rolled out new flavors of Hazelnut Cream Cookie, Mango Yogurt, and Muscovado and Pili Nut. Carousel Creamery also offers sorbet, soy, yogurt, and no sugar added flavors.
For bigger ice cream orders, there's a Sampler Plate of 5 (P395), and a Take-away Pint (P320). There's also Chocolate Insanity, which is 3 scoops of chocolate flavored ice cream (15 to choose from), topped with chocolate chips and chopped almonds, homemade hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry. Even more huge is their CONEundrum: an ice cream platter of 10 scoops of any flavor, drizzled with homemade hot fudge and caramel sauce, then topped with whipped cream, chopped nuts, and almonds. It also comes with two cones, cherries, wafer sticks, and a side order of potato chips.
Espresso Shake (P165 with two scoops of ice cream), coffee, Affogato (P165), hot and cold chocolate, tea, and fruit juices are available for drinks, while those craving for a savory snack can choose from their gourmet hot dog lineup, nachos, fries, and chips — The Deal (P285) lets you choose a gourmet hotdog and combines it with fries and a drink.
