While some of you have made and finalized all your V-day plans even before the new year struck, I'm sure a lot still have their Sunday vacant on their respective planners. Little Tokyo Series: Oishinbo Restaurant

Deceptively simple and unassuming, Little Tokyo starts off by greeting curious visitors with a sign that reads its name on an Oriental arc. Once you enter, though, it’s like being transported straight to Japan. So bring out the foodie in you and head to one of the more-overlooked areas of the city; it’s bound to be a rewarding experience. Itadakimasu!

Little Tokyo Series: Hana Restaurant

Away from the towering skyscrapers and busy shopping malls that characterize the much of Makati’s landscape, there is a mini-district at the heart of Chino Roces (formerly Pasong Tamo) that is a treasure-trove of authentic Japanese eats. Deceptively simple and unassuming, Little Tokyo starts off by greeting curious visitors with a sign that reads its name on an Oriental arc. Once you enter, though, it’s like being transported straight to Japan. La Creperie

It was after a hearty feature of one of the newest restaurants in Eastwood mall that I came across La Creperie. Inside, the demure cubbyhole looked fitting in a little girl's doll house. Butter yellow and white striped patio roof, pastel walls, country style furniture, wooden flooring -- it was undeniably charming.

Celsius Gastrolounge

I am not much of a drinker. In fact, I doubt if I can even classify myself a drinker at all. Clubbing rarely appeals to me unless the company's real great. And of the relatively few times I find myself in a bar, I am almost never seen with more than one drink on hand -- you know, that one drink served free and sayang to decline. Miss goody two-shoes, I am indeed.

MoMo Cafe

Last year, MoMo first opened its doors in Robinsons Midtown - a casual, urban hip cafe with touches of New York in their interiors. At the latter part of 2009, I heard from the folks of Raintree that they've jazzed up the look of their restaurant, and set up another branch.

Tosca!

One has to really give it up to Dusit Thani Manila. The establishment has been around for quite some time now, and has managed to maintain its image as one of the better hotels in the metro while going through a number of reinventions.

Phoebe Cakes

Neither I nor Phoebe Estrevillo knew Phoebe Cates, initially. If you personally know the both of us, I'm sure that won't come off as a surprise. (Hint: We can don high school uniforms and get pass the guard. And oh, guards like asking for our IDs at the cinemas.)
