The Philippine Culinary Cup (PCC), one of the most awaited and prestigious culinary competition in the country was held recently at the SMX Convention Center. Running on its 6th year, PCC is the only culinary competition endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) in the Philippines which serves an international platform to expose competing chefs to showcase their skills professionally. The culinary competition holds the highest standard in culinary competition guidelines allowing only accredited WACS judges for each category.
Battling with participants from different hotels, restaurants, and culinary schools, InterContinental Manila stands triumphant in bagging 5 awards in individual and pair category. Geared with culinary prowess and extensive training from coaches from InterContinental Manila’s head chefs, Chef Aldrin Somera won Gold at the Chocolate Showpiece category with his creation “Urduja”. His creations garnered a perfect score from the judges honoring his gold win “with distinction”.
Successfully bringing home Silver Medals on their respective categories wereChef Chef Ian Pabellano for the Bread Showpiece Category; Chef Richelle Cheong for Plated Dessert Category, and Chef Rosary Pearl Sabangan for Pasta Category. Meanwhile Chef Maybellyn Gacer and Chef Edward Philip Alejandria took Bronze Award for Young Chef Category which InterContinental Manila also won the previous year.
