This 17th of February 2015, Sofitel Philippine Plaza presents Chinoiserie a Sofitel Manila showcasing the Dame of Philippine Fashion, Patis Pamintuan Tesoro’s most current interpretation of Chinoiserie. Witness this color virtuoso’s unique version of the popular European18th century east meets west design movement, which features dragons and other mystical creatures gleaned by European artists from porcelain and lacquerware motifs.
“La Collection Rouge” for Rustan’s is a 40-piece showcase which will feature Patis’ signature treatment of handwoven piña embellished with a diverse range of embroidery, beadwork, and painting, all done by hand. Comfortable yet luxuriously adorned evening dresses will also be revealed, alongside her new line of upcycled wear made of an inimitable mix and match of floral and geometric patterns.

Patis has been designing since she was in her 20's. Her launching line of voile peasant blouses were first made available in the 1970s through her late mother-in-law Salud Tesoro’s popular chain of handicraft stores, Tesoro’s: Treasure House of Philippine Handicrafts.
She has since become a household name for made-to-order Filipinana inspired wedding and evening gowns, and her ground-breaking efforts in the revival of our natural textile, ‘piña’. Her work is sought after and is exhibited in different parts of the world, most recently in Lyon, France at Le Musée Bargoin, a museum featuring tapestry.
She travels frequently in search of new techniques to inspire her and to evangelize the beauty of piña fabric and Filipino craftsmanship through fashion and textile art shows in France, Italy, Vietnam, and Beijing. Her Boho/Contemporary Filipiniana line is a brand carried exclusively by Rustan’s.
