Get Hands-on Wholesome Nutrition with CCA, Manila’s ‘Healthy Cuisine’ Cooking Workshops

​The Center for Culinary Arts (CCA, Manila), as the country’s pioneer culinary education institute is now offering a series of Healthy Cuisine cooking workshops that run all weekends of August until September.

For those who enjoy eating well and informative classes, they can gain both while appreciating the life-long benefits of balanced healthy eating at the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA, Manila), as the country’s pioneer culinary education institute is now offering a series of Healthy Cuisine cooking workshops that run all weekends of August until September.

Featuring fresh, practical and sensible meal plans that are perfectly suited not only for those under strict diets but also for those who are keen in enriching their everyday life with wholesome food choices, the Healthy Cuisine workshop series offers a variety of themed cooking classes that are designed by CCA, Manila to inspire, educate and help people become more pro-active advocates of good nutrition.

Apart from learning more about the merits of conscious eating, participants of the Healthy Cuisine workshops will also be taught to prepare delicious, health-supportive recipes as they incorporate the philosophies with the fun discovery of new cooking ingredients and techniques.

According to Chef Melissa Sison-Oreta, Program Director of CCA, Manila, the weekend classes aim to promote among today’s generation of eaters the importance of incorporating balanced nutrition in modern diets.

“We want people to start looking at the nutritional health benefits of eating the right food. Most people, especially the younger adults, have been accustomed to consuming quick, over-the-counter fast food varieties which are often not the healthiest, not to mention full of artificial additives. Which is why CCA came up with these Healthy Cuisine short classes where they learn, at their most convenient time during the weekends, how to cook dishes that are low in sodium, carb-free, gluten-free, as well as low-fat vegetarian and sugar-free yet still balance good taste with good health,” Sison-Oreta stressed.

“CCA, Manila also wants to erase unhealthy eating habits as well as the misconception about nutritious meals being less filling, less satisfying, or less delicious. To effectively do so, each class will be made very interactive and informative, just like having a nutritional consultation only much better as it is made fun and interesting by our instructors. With our classes, we will show them that taste and nutrition can be enjoyed at the same time while they commit to a lifetime of healthy eating habits,” she noted.

Regular Healthy Cuisine sessions are scheduled as follows: Create easy-to-prepare, waist-line friendly European dishes that are packed with international flavors, not calories, by learning the art and nutrition-rich fundamentals of low-gluten Italian recipes with Guilt-Free Italian class (August 9, 9am-2pm); for weight-watching individuals, they can complement their diet plans as well as their fitness routines by fueling their body right with the Skinny Jane low-fat American cuisine workshop (August 16, 9am-2pm) and by detoxifying nutrient-filled juices through the 5-Bottle Juice Cleanse class (3pm-6pm).
