Katsu and Ramen Restaurant, Tampopo, Now Open to Serve You

Tampopo, owned by Chris Tiu, is the first 2-in-1 ramen and tonkatsu specialty resto concept in the country.

Tampopo has finally set foot in the Philippines, now open to serve and to satisfy the discriminating taste of Filipino diners! It is Tampopo’s first outside Singapore. The first 2-in-1 ramen and tonkatsu specialty resto concept in the country.

The name Tampopo, which literally means "dandelion", is inspired by the 1985 Japanese "Ramen Western" film of the same name. It is a brand that has been carefully crafted with passion and dedication by Takaaki Takagi, founder and director of Creative Food Concepts PTE Ltd., who is considered to be one of the key players in the Japanese F&B industry in Singapore. Takagi is best known for starting Tonkichi, one of Hong Kong and Singapore’s best Tonkatsu restaurants. He has already set up more than 30 restaurants and eateries in Asia over his long spanning career as a successful restaurateur.

Tampopo boasts of its extensive menu of delectable ramen served the Hokkaido and Kyushu way. It goes great lengths for its ramen. Exclusive to Tampopo, its Hokkaido Noodles are made of special Hokkaido flour and brought in from Japan. On the other hand, the Kyushu ramen’s pure pork bone soup takes 2 days to make! It is no wonder why Tampopo’s ramen was voted as the best in Singapore according to consumers by HungryGoWhere.com.

A favorite among Singaporeans is their signature ramen dish, the Deluxe Tampopo Black Pig Shabu Ramen with its thin and hard Kyushu noodles plus tasty egg and corn toppings, and very soft Kurobuta! (Black Pig)

Top Grade Black Pig Tonkatsu, one of the bestsellers, has higher fat content than normal black pig which makes every bite tastier with its tenderness and juiciness. The tonkatsu is coated with special bread crumbs imported from Hokkaido Japan. Frying tonkatsu is a distinct form of culinary art, a cooking technique mastered by Tampopo’s very own chefs.

If you want to enjoy the best of both worlds, choose The Tampopo Black Pig Tonkatsu Ramen. A perfect combination of a ramen specifically made to be paired with Tampopo’s signature Black Pig Tonkatsu.

Tampopo hopes to bring the Japanese dining experience to a whole new level by introducing new concepts while keeping the traditional aspect of the cuisine.  It endeavors to provide a casual and comfortable dining experience where families can enjoy high quality dishes, for sharing portions at a reasonable price.

The Philippine franchise is owned by Chris Tiu, George Huang, and TY Tang plus other investors.

Tampopo is located at the Ground Floor, Promenade 3, Greenhills, San Juan City.
