Tokyo Café Cooks Up New And Exciting Dishes
posted on Wednesday, September 03, 2008With a whole slew of gustatory delights popping left and right, one restaurant stands out for its uniqueness, appeal and cozy, relaxed, ambience. Meet Tokyo Café - the only Japanese style family restaurant in the Philippines.

Now on its 3rd year, this trendy restaurant has already gained a loyal following and popularity because of its uniquely concocted Western dishes fused with that distinct Japanese touch, reminiscent of Tokyo’s growing dining trend.
Recently, Tokyo Café has launched new menu offerings, adding to its classic favorites. New on the menu are the Garlic Cream Hamburg topped with mushroom sauce; the extremely tender pork Katsu Sandwich; juicy and crispy Chicken burger; Pescatore pasta and Bacon Tomato Cream Pasta tossed in a creamy cheese tomato sauce topped with crispy bacon bits.

For sweets tooths, Tokyo café has created 5 delectable parfaits. A must try is the Adzuki Parfait which is a layering of red adzuki beans, vanilla and green tea ice cream topped with whipped cream. Other flavors include Mango Parfait, Choco Banana Parfait, Strawberry Parfait, Coffee Jelly Parfait .

Of course, Tokyo Cafe would not be called a café without its signature coffee blends created by the owner himself, Atsushi Yoshizawa - a certified barista and coffee connoisseur trained in Milan. The beans are knowingly selected and roasted in Japan he says, which as any coffee expert would attest, determines the character and profile of a coffee bean. Among Yoshizawa’s recommendations are the Sumbi Yaki, which features a bold and distinctive flavor, and Tokyo Blend, a fusion of various origins of coffee beans that taste both sour and smooth. For non coffee drinkers, try the Matcha green tea shake and the Tokyo Afogard which is vanilla ice cream topped with espresso.
Tokyo Café with its crisp white, minimalist decor will definitely entice you to come inside and try out their new dishes. It offers a relaxing respite after a dizzying day of shopping and malling. This certainly attracts many families, young professionals and other mall goers.
Tokyo Café has branches at SM Mall of Asia and at SM The Block SM North Edsa.
