Intercon To Hold Dinner For Charity

Expect to have a great time when three of the leading names in the fields of hospitality, fashion and dance get together for a good cause on Thursday, November 26, 2009. InterContinental Manila, which is celebrating its ruby (40th) jubilee this year, will hold a dinner show, Lines and Movements, at its Grand Ballroom on the aforementioned date for the benefit of the Center for Health Improvement and Life Development (CHILD HAUS), a halfway house in Manila for sick children from the provinces while they undergo medical treatment. Net proceeds from the event will be remitted to CHILD HAUS.

Maynilad Helps Improve Sanitation Conditions in Public Schools

Maynilad, the largest private water concessionaire in terms of customer base in the Philippines, significantly improved sanitation conditions for over 30,000 public school students, through its Lingkod Eskuwela program. Under this Corporate Social Responsibility program, Maynilad provides drinking and washing stations to public schools in the West Zone of Metro Manila. The water company also provides assistance in the upkeep of the schools’ internal water network, including the repair of the plumbing system in comfort rooms, inspection of cisterns, and desludging of septic tanks.

Western Union and OWWA hail the 2008 Model Overseas Foreign Worker Family of the Year

The Western Union Company (NYSE:WU) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) recently announced the grand winners for the 2008 Model OFW Family of the Year Awards (MOFYA).
