Via Mare Corporation is a duly registered company backed by more than 30 solid years of experience. It opened its very first Via Mare Seafood Specialty Restaurant on September 5, 1975 and has since grew and continue to be a frontrunner in the restaurant and catering industry. It currently operates the Cafe Via Mare, a dining concept that has been hailed as a pioneer at creating a truly Filipino café. This brand copped a niche in the hearts of diners with such heartwarming fares as bibingka, puto bumbong, pancit luglog and dinuguan. Also along with it is The Via Mare Oyster Bar, an upscale seafood dining restaurant well-known for its oyster menus, and lastly Via Mare Catering, a mobile catering services provider for the business, government and social sectors of Manila as well as other major cities of the country. Through the years its restaurant outlets and catering division brought pride to the Philippines through its tireless pursuit of elevating Filipino cooking to a global status at par with the world's best.
The flagship of the coffeeshop chain was established in 1982 at Greenbelt 1. It was a lifestyle innovator that serves traditional Filipino merienda fare in a very cosmopolitan setting. It was one of the very first establishments that led to the development of Manila's café scene.
To this day, Via Mare provides impeccable cuisine and unparalleled service to notable men and women of the country's political and social scene. It is the name behind the historic feasts of four presidential inaugurations. It is with Via Mare that the government worked closely with when it played host to world leaders in the landmark 1996 APEC Summit. The same can be said of every major political, social and cultural affairs— the Papal Visit, Ms. Universe Pageant, Manila International Film Festival, Ms. Saigon Gala, General Carlos P. Romulo's state functions, the 2007 ASEAN Summit in Cebu, dinners in honor of visiting royalties—events that touched and shaped the lives of Filipinos.
Via Mare's participation in world expositions and international food festivals also gave Philippine cuisine its long-awaited global recognition. Every memorable weddings, birthdays and anniversaries of illustrious Filipino families—from intimate dinners to grand-scale banquets-- bore the Via Mare stamp of excellent food and service. So much so that the Via Mare became synonymous to the phrase Of splendid cuisine and fond memories.
