Beyond the Beats: Café Naya brings you coastal cuisine at The Palace, Bonifacio Global City

The Palace is known for partygoers at night but Café Naya actually offers day to night meals. Here are a few dishes you shouldn't miss out on when you visit this restaurant serving coastal cuisine.

Whether you're looking for a restaurant where you can eat a quiet lunch at with colleagues, a romantic dinner date with a special someone, prepping for a big night at The Palace or for some midnight snack after a night out with friends, Café Naya makes sure its customers bask in a place where you can lay back and enjoy its dishes inspired by destinations just by the coast where fresh fares are abundant.

Café Naya aims to complement the laid back vibe of The Palace Pool Club through its coastal cuisine food concept with your tastebuds traveling to Spain, France, Italy, Greece and other regions of Asia. Café Naya transports its guests to a serene sea setting we all want to be at in the middle of this busy city. A visit to the restaurant will make you feel as though you're at a beach resort with its vibrant décor and food choices. Here are a few dishes you shouldn't miss out on when you visit.

Their burrata is not your usual kind as they use an element found locally. Café Naya's Carabao's Milk Burrata (P455) plate has thai basil, chunks of mango, cherry tomato and pickled shallot. Cut the burrata open and watch how the cream mixture oozes out. New on the menu is this Seared Foie & Hummus (P398) served with roasted pepper jam and pickled garlic and a few pieces of flatbread to wipe off the plate clean. The foie gras has the right amount of fat to it and is perfectly seared to achieve a crisp outercrust yet still have that rich and buttery texture.

Another best-seller and a personal favorite is an unusual pairing (but totally works!) of Uni & Ricotta (P295) on a crisp brioche topped with fried kale. The brioche has the right amount of thickness and is really soft so the crisp kale adds crunch to the uni, ricotta and bread combination. Healthier than the usual bowl of chili is their version of the spicy stew, Lentil Chili (P469), tender beef chunks packed with different kinds of herbs and topped with garlic yoghurt and carabao mozzarella instead of sour cream to tame down the heat. Use the flatbread chips to scoop some chili for an added texture in every bite!

One of the best-sellers for mains is the grilled Blue Marlin (P476) on a bed of sauteed asparagus and chorizo served with a slightly hot cashew romesco sauce, a red pepper based sauce that's best eaten with fish. Packing on protein? Known for handling meats well, Chef Mikko Reyes does not disappoint with the Grilled Skirt Steak (P1598) drizzled with habanero chimichurri and served with bowls of chorizo pilaf and roasted vegetable salad. They also have a late night menu for when you're craving some sinful (but great) Filipino dishes. How does a plate of Beef Belly Tapa sound? A Housemade Longganisa that has both a vinegary and sweet taste or a Garlic Butter Spam? Everything is served with warm garlic rice (white or brown), egg (sunny side up, scrambled or poached) and some pickled red onion.

What's a meal without a good dessert to end it with? They have a few on their dessert menu you can choose from – a Chocolate Mousse with calamansi curd, a Yoghurt Panna Cotta with caramelized pineapple a Chocnut Pot de Creme with pinipig for texture and the Almond Tart (P298) which is a must-try, has biscuits reminiscent to those butter cookies we used to fondly munch on sitting on a grainy almond paste with cranberry purée and cold whipped cream to balance the sweetness.
