These two new concepts by Raintree Restaurants offer back-to-back Japanese food and drink at the Net Park Building in BGC. A collaboration between Raintree and Piglet of Tokyo, Japan, brings Izakaya Sensu and Chotto Matte highball and liquor bar to life. The two establishments are now open for dinner all week, beginning tonight July 12th. Here's a look inside the new izakaya and bar, the funky Japanese counterpart of Raintree's other back-to-back BGC offering, Stella and Rocket Room.
Izakaya Sensu: a modern Japanese Izakaya

The two restaurants share one menu, the unified menu allowing customers of both outlets to cross order — you can drink at the izakaya and enjoy food at the bar, and vice versa. Izakaya Sensu aims for a non-traditional izakaya (Japanese gastropub) experience with their modern takes on classic izakaya cuisine. Sushi and sashimi lovers are in for a treat, as the izakaya offers a extensive line of seafood, authentic sushi, nigiri, gunkan, makimono (rolled sushi) like the Sensu Roll which has two rolls in one order. They also offer Masu (sushi served in a sake wooden box).
For chicken lovers, they offer Sichimi Age (lightly fried chicken heart and gizzard with Japanese 7 spice), and Sensu Kara-age (special sesame crusted fried chicken with fresh lemon and Japanese mayonnaise). Meaty and filling offerings include wagyu steaks, assorted tempura, and Japanese hotpot (mizutaki and sukiyaki). To pair with drinks, the menu of Izakaya Sensu and Chotto Matte offers Sakana (side dishes for Japanese sake), and a yakitori lineup that includes quail egg, daikou, enkoi, tomato, chicken skin and garlic.
For the lunch crowd, they will soon offer Bento from 11:30pm to 2pm, and each Japanese-style 'lunch box' includes miso soup, side dishes, and desserts. Bentos will be priced from P350 to P620 per order, and will include favorites like tempura, kara-age, sashimi and sushi.
Chotto Matte: a Japanese Highball and Liquor Bar

This new Japanese bar is patterned after Tokyo's high energy back alleys, where hidden gems are found serving good sake and cocktails. Chotto Matte is also serving up Kakubin highballs, traditional and modern kinds. An authentic Kakubin is said to have a good ratio of Suntory Special Blended Whisky, soda water and fresh lemon. Highballs at Chotto Matte range from P150 to P295 per glass.
The bar also serves a refreshing shochu version of the Highball called 'Chu Hi' Sours (P175-P220 each), signature Cocktails (P195-P320 each), artisanal sake and fruit sake, and other liquor. Non-alcoholic sips include fruit-flavored sodas, iced teas, smoothies and shales, Illy coffee, and matcha drinks.

Izakaya Sensu and Chotto Matte are now open for dinner. The two establishments are located at the ground floor of Net Park Building, 28th Street corner 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City.
