Regarded as one of Makati's best kept secret food stalls, Cantina Deliciosa offers Tex-Mex, Mexi-Cali, Baja-Cali, and (sometimes) Spanish fare at affordable prices.
Chimmis
Cantina Deliciosa recently added chimichangas a.k.a. 'Chimmis' to their menu and you must absolutely try them. In case you didn't know, chimichagas are super burritos– deep-fried (or in Cantina's case, pan-fried), then slathered with cheese sauce. Cantina does an excellent version– large and generous, a steal at its price (get a burrito and add P30 to have it chimmi-fied).
Owned and manned by Mexican-American husband and wife James and Gina Gallegos, Cantina Deliciosa sells enchiladas (think: Mexican lasagna), burritos (big, burly, and prepared as you order; priced at P100 to P120), tacos, flautas, and quesadillas in a food stall inside Standard Charter Building's food court.
From time to time, Cantina also comes up with specials of the day like Spanish Style Pimenton Pulled Pork (on Tuesdays), Chile Verde (Mexican Stew on Thursdays), Cuban Style Ground Beef Picadillo, Paella Negra and Valenciana (Fridays), and Meatballs over Mexican rice.
Quesadillas
While you can't expect made-from-scratch tortillas and flown-from-Mexico spices at Cantina, you are assured of a filling and quality Mexican meal at a fraction of their mall counterparts.
Tip: Lines can get really long during lunch time. Come early or prepare to wait. And also, do note that Standard Charter Building requires visitors to surrender their ID at the reception.
