About the Event
As part of the annual Engineering Week festivities of the University of the Philippines Diliman, AWITAN will once again open the stage to another university wide choral competition on its 52nd event celebration at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo de Manila, Quezon City this coming February 27, 2017.
Centered on the theme “Music of the Night”, this year’s Awitan will showcase several talented singers from 15 different student organizations within the university. Unique musical adaptations of songs from Disney and Broadway will resound as the participants compete with their harmonic vocal skills in singing choruses that will be judged by well renowned music personalities in the country.
Once again, this grandiose night of soulful melodies will be hosted by the UP Chemical Engineering Society, Inc. (UP KEM) as one of its flagship events. Since its establishment in 1954, UP KEM has been a home to more than 150 resident members and over 1,200 alumni, consistently promoting academic excellence, holistic development and prime professionalism. Now on its 62nd year, it continues to be one of the largest socio-academic organizations recognized by the university.
