IE 4.0: Taking the Industrial Engineers to the Forefront of the 4th Industrial Revolution

The Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) is an organization that strives to provide boundless academic and leadership opportunities for industrial engineers. Composed of more than sixty schools from all throughout the country, PIIE is a model umbrella organization that endeavors to promote continuous growth in the field of industrial engineering. This year, the Congress will be held on February 24-25, 2017 at the Bulwagang Balagtas inside the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Santa Mesa Manila (PUP-Main Campus) on the 1st Day and at the SMX Convention Center Manila on the 2nd Day, both from 8 A.M. to 7 P.M.

The body’s National Student Chapter (PIIE-NSC) embodies this objective by conducting activities corresponding to this objective of PIIE, for the benefit of the Industrial Engineering studentry. In line with this, we would like to invite you to one of our endeavors. The PIIE - National Student Chapter, in partnership with PIIE – Polytechnic University of the Philippines Student Chapter (PIIE-PUPSC), will be holding the 14th National Student Congress with the theme: “IE 4.0: Taking the Industrial Engineers to the Forefront of the 4th Industrial Revolution”. In a world that is continuously modernizing, transforming with innovations and inventions after another, this event strives to take the IE Students in the forefront of those evolutions, leading the next generation with views and ideas revolutionizing the industries and the society.

The pre-eminent Industrial Engineering event in the country for 14 years, the National Congress will again be a platform for showcasing both the minds and the extraordinary flair of IE students through seminars, quiz contests, research competitions, feasibility study competitions, talent contests, among several other exciting events especially arranged to appreciate your efforts as avid supporters of PIIE.

The 1st Day is mainly for the Academic Competitions including the Feasibility Study Competition, the Undergraduate IE Research Competition and the Inter-University IE Quiz Show while the second day is dedicated for the major congress talks, the awarding of the winners in the academic competition and the socio-cultural activity. Registration fees for both the 1st day and the 2nd day are explained on the latter part of the letter. It will be inclusive of lunch, snacks, participant’s kit and more, on top of the privilege to witness and participate in all the activities arranged for you in particular. We highly encourage your school’s participation in this event. Only through the combined efforts of the whole Industrial Engineering community will our goals be met.
