FEW women are more qualified to speak on the subject of leadership from within than the two speakers at the forthcoming public program, “Inner Strength in Times of Conflict and Disaster.”
Vice-President Leni Robredo was often quoted in the last presidential election campaign as saying that fortitude wells from the heart, instinctively, when a woman is challenged by tragedy that threatens her family and/or her country.
“I have always opted to take action,” she said, “not to assert power but to be an example, to be of service.”
Jayanti Kirpalani, director for the Brahma Kumaris (United Nations Messenger of Peace NGO Awardee) centers in Europe and the Middle East is a firm believer in the urgency of owning responsibility for everything in one’s immediate environment.
“It is a tall order,” she has stressed in countless lectures. “Why, indeed, should I feel responsible for global warming? But acceptance leads to the realization that, if I had a hand in the past, by my hand will the future likewise be created.”
The free public program, “Inner Strength in Times of Conflict and Disaster,” is set Wednesday, July 20, 2:30 to 5 p.m., at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier, in Bonifacio Global City.
