About the Event
Based on the popular comic strip, Little Orphan Annie by Harold Gray, Annie opened as a musical in 1977 and ran for a record-setting six years at the former Alvin Theater in midtown-Manhattan, New York. With music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and book by Thomas Meehan, Annie was nominated for 11 Tony Awards and won in seven categories, including Best Musical. Its popular musical numbers include Tomorrow, Maybe, and Hard-Knock Life.
This 2016, Resorts World Manila, together with Full House Theater Company, brings back this theater phenomenon on the Philippine stage, featuring some of the best homegrown actors, and new little stars who could very well be the future of Philippine theater.
Don’t miss the heartwarming tale of a little orphan girl and her unwavering optimism in the face of overwhelming challenges, starting September 30, 2016 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
