About the Event
Welcome to RECon Asia-Pacific 2016. You will enjoy your time with us here in the vibrant city of Manila. Our industry as always is evolving and no doubt will face many challenges in the coming period. We hope that the program we have put together will be both thought provoking and informative given the pace of change in the region, in order that we are better equipped to meet challenges before us and grow with our various partners.
Last year’s RECon Asia-Pacific held in Taipei mirrored the excitement of the retail real estate sector and marked a true convergence of executives from across Asia, who explored opportunities, exchanged ideas and made deals. We look forward to once again providing the opportunity to discover all the Asian markets in one place, at one time, at RECon Asia-Pacific 2016.
In Asia, the increased spending power of the younger generation, the rapid growth in middle-class families and the sustained pace of urbanisation across the continent have been the driving forces behind retail sales.
This year, we have introduced a number of initiatives in response to our members and past RECon Asia-Pacific attendees’ feedback. We have focused our kiosk area on services to the mall industry in an effort to give you the opportunity to see the most up to the minute services and suppliers. We are also continuing our newly launched concept of country champions (from 2015) across the region that will be identified throughout RECon Asia-Pacific 2016. The country champions are senior industry professionals from their country who are able to give insight into their market that is unprecedented and invaluable.
Over the course of RECon Asia-Pacific 2016 we expect to welcome hundreds of delegates from the Asia Pacific region. With this in mind, the event provides the best opportunity to network in the region and in turn learn from each other and grow our industry. The Asia Pacific Shopping Center Awards will be presented on Tuesday, 11 October.
