About the Event

Wanna add new snaps to your story? Wanna plague your friends’ timelines with summer-esque fun? Why spend thousands of pesos for an airplane ticket when you can get a taste of the different provinces of the Philippines right here in Metro Manila?.

The Ateneo Resident Students Association is proud to present ARSAFEST SPF+63, a three-day event that starts on April 6 and ends on April 8, 2016. It is the 5th ARSAFEST since the event’s debut in 2011. ARSAFEST’s goal is to showcase the diversity found in the Residence Halls and also exhibit the different cultures the Philippines has to offer.

“This year, we want ARSAFEST to go back to its purpose; to showcase our cultures and bring people together,” said Glen Deiparine and Kevinn Chan (ARSAFEST 2016 Co-Heads)

Located at the Cervini Field in the Residence Halls Complex, Ateneo de Manila University, ARSAFEST can easily be spotted because of the pasalubong stands, lechon booth, concessionaires, the Kitkat benches, and live performances from student musicians.

Instead of the usual five-day fiesta of Filipino fun, ARSAFEST this year will only be three. But heads, Chan and Deiparine made sure that each day and each night would be packed with activities. During the day, it would be the regular day time performers and allowing people from across the university to visit and enjoy the Bazaar.

The nights, however, will be something bigger. On the first night, SM Youth Ambassadors DJ Carlo Atendido, LA Aguinaldo, Richard Juan, Tommy Esguerra and Janna Tee will pay Ateneo a little visit. Following this, April 7th’s evening will be called “Sundown,” it’s a night that caters to a line-up of up and coming Filipino bands to perform for the university.

Performers include in house musicians, Lance Salazar and N507 and local Filipino bands like The Ransom Collective, Jensen and the Flips, and Over October. It would just be a night of live music and friends. “Sundown being almost like a tribute to the previous ARSAFESTs, because that chill night of live music was how ARSAFEST started off 6 years ago,&rdquo ;said Kevinn.

ARSA never fails to live up to the most anticipated part of ARSAFEST; it concludes with the biggest party on campus. This year, it’s called “Heat Wave.” On the evening of April 8th, DJs Galo Marquez, Arthur Tan, Edleen Lim, Jo Tempengko will drop their sick beats and bring the rave to Ateneo. Every year, ARSA throws the wildest Sinulog-esque party the university has ever known. It just gets bigger and bigger.

ARSAFEST 2016: SPF+63 is the event to go to for some Summer fun and for a little taste of every part of the Philippines.
