About the Event

The Ateneo Professional Schools (APS) will close its 40th anniversary celebration with the lecture forum “The Quest for Quality Cities and Quality of Life: Sustainable Urban Development and Redevelopment” on May 27, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at APS auditorium, Rockwell Center, Makati City.

The lecture forum provides an opportunity to discuss and promote awareness on sustainable urban growth. The theme challenges policy makers, business leaders, professionals, and members of civil society to reflect on their respective and collective roles in a dynamic urban, regional and global setting that must remain anchored in goals of improving the quality of life of everyone.

The morning forum will feature presentations of key individuals engaged in various initiatives on urban development. Asian Development Bank Director Dr. Tatiana Gallego-Lizon (Southeast Asia, Regional Department, Urban and Water Division) will share best practices on how a roadmap must be developed and operationalized in ensuring that sustainability is achieved for all levels of the society.

The presentations will be followed by observations and reactions from a panel of reactors including Karima Palafox (Palafox Associates), Dr. Segundo Joaquin Romero, Jr. (Ateneo School of Government) and Rolando Tungpalan (National Economic and Development Authority).
