Several photo clubs are participating through their special Photo Exhibition in the 3rd Photo-Video Expo 2012. The Zone V Camera Club, one of the oldest camera clubs in the country, will take center stage in their rare photo exhibitions with the theme on 'Trip the Light Fantastic'. In a sense, all of photography is a form of painting with light. After all, without light, there is no image.
For this exhibit, the club has chosen once again to go with a different approach to the art of the captured image. Light painting is a technique where exposed images are made by moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera. Each artist will have his own approach to this. One of the most famous images involving the technique is a photographic portrait of Pablo Picasso where he signs his name in the air using a flashlight. More often non-moving objects are lit separately from the background in order to highlight them. The result is a very moody, even eerie effect that makes for a unique image.
The SPPP (Society of Portrait Photographers of the Philippines) will present their 'Body Painting Photography' on stage during the 3-days exhibition, while SLR (Samahan ng Litratista ng Rizal) Camera Club, Framed shots Camera Club, Chasing Lights Batch 11 Camera Club, BMSD (Bawal Magshot Dito) Camera Club, and Photo Journalists Club of the Philippines will have photo exhibits and EyeBalls in the Expo.
