Playing in Manila for just 2 weekends at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of RCBC Plaza in Makati, tickets are now on sale at ticketworld.com.ph. The 8-show run features an all-Filipino powerhouse cast led by Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo. Jef Flores is set to play the role of Jesus while OJ Mariano is Judas.
Other cast members include Shiela Valderrama-Martinez, Caisa Borromeo, Poppert Bernadas, Topper Fabregas, Red Concepcion, Abi Sulit, Maronne Cruz, Rhenz Gabalonzo and Gab Pangilinan.
Based largely on the Gospel of Matthew, GODSPELL narrates the parables of Jesus Christ with the help of a small group of people using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques, and hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs ranging in style from pop to vaudeville is employed as the story of Jesus's life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus's messages of kindness, tolerance, and love come vibrantly to life.
